How it works
From your kitchen to the world
Posting a recipe takes five minutes — the community does the rest.
- 1
Photograph & share
Snap your plate, write down the steps the way aamaile taught you, and publish in Nepali or English.
- 2
Get rated & reviewed
Other cooks try it, rate it, and leave notes — like 'add half a spoon of jimbu, trust me'.
- 3
Save to your cookbook
Keep the keepers in My Cookbook with your own notes and portion adjustments.
- 4
Plan the week's menu
Turn saved recipes into a weekly meal plan with a shopping list priced in NPR.
Meal planner
The planner that shops for you
Meal planning apps prove the pattern — the kitchen wins when the list writes itself.

- Auto-sorted shopping list with approximate NPR prices
- Servings scale from 2 to 20 — perfect for bhoj and tihar
- Diet filters: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, jain-style

What home cooks say
I moved to Melbourne for work and missed my mother's gundruk ko jhol. Found a recipe from a cook in Ilam, made it, and cried a little at the table. [CLIENT-COPY: confirm with client]
My sel roti recipe has 1,400 saves during Tihar. Strangers call it 'the Bhaktapur one'. That is the best compliment of my life. [CLIENT-COPY: confirm with client]
The meal planner cut our monthly kharcha — we shop once, cook twice, and waste almost nothing. [CLIENT-COPY: confirm with client]

Questions
Before you grab a ladle
Are the recipes really from Nepali home cooks?
Yes — every recipe is posted by a registered community member, with photos and step-by-step instructions. Regional and festival tags show where each dish comes from.
Can I share recipes in Nepali?
Absolutely. Nepali and English are both first-class on the platform, and many cooks post in both so the diaspora can follow along.
How do ratings work?
Anyone who has cooked a recipe can rate it out of 5 and leave a short review with tips. Ratings only count after at least three community tries.
Is the meal planner really free?
The basic planner with shopping list is free. Pro plans add nutrition notes, larger serving batches, and offline lists for low-bandwidth connections.
What is 'dal bhat power, 24 hour'?
The beloved saying that dal bhat — lentils, rice, and seasonal vegetables — fuels a full day of work. It is the unofficial slogan of Nepali mealtimes, and our community's favourite tag.
Can diaspora cooks join?
Yes — more than a third of our cooks cook from outside Nepal. Diaspora recipes are tagged by country so everyone can find authentic versions anywhere in the world.
Your aamaiko recipe deserves a home.
Post it, rate it, and watch someone on the other side of the world cook it for dinner.
